A request came through from Stan and Marion’s granddaughter, Sophie. She is a midwife at the Princess Royal Hospital, Kent, and asked if it was possible for the ladies to knit hats for the premature baby unit, and a few larger hats for full-term babies. We received a lovely thank you card from Sophie telling us that the parents were touched when she told them they had been donated by the church ladies. Rosemary has continued to repair church banners. Some of our banners have been in the Sanctuary for over 40 years. If you use Selsdon High Street you may have seen the post box topper outside Tudor Library (see previous page). It was made by one of our ladies who comes each month. We have quite a few different crafts going on. But to our surprise we had a friend untangling the cables on her Christmas lights in January, which gave us all a laugh. I’m not sure we could call it a new craft though. We have a good group and most months we see 15–18 friends. We enjoy a cup of tea and biscuit, a prayer and a few encouraging words. Gillian
